About Dacia Moore

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINER, AUTHOR, KEYNOTE SPEAKER

As a Professional Development Trainer, Author and Keynote Speaker, Dacia facilitates half day, full day and multiple day workshops on reducing anger, managing conflict and improving relationships at work and at school.    She often uses her most recent published book Why Are So Many Students So Angry? as the foundation for this training.

Dacia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance (MA) from Webster University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). Dacia had the honor of studying at The Albert Ellis Institute in New York under the guidance of Dr. Ellis. She has her primary and advanced certification in REBT from The Institute.

Dacia is an adjunct faculty member at Webster University – Kansas City and at the Metropolitan Community Colleges Penn Valley Campus where she teaches on youth at risk and reducing angry, aggressive bullying behavior in the classroom.

In her part time private practice, Dacia provides individual, couple and family counseling.  She has her Biblical Counseling Certification from the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and is a member of the national and local chapter of the American Counseling Association (ACA). She is an active member of Sheffield Family Life Center Assembly of God, where she serves as an usher and is the first African American female board member.

Dacia’s has worked extensively with children and families as a Day Treatment Therapist, Director of Day Treatment, Educational Director and finally the Vice-President of Programs in a residential treatment facility. Dacia provided her staff with workshops to enhance teamwork and reduce worker conflict. Dacia and her staff worked extensively with children and families with such difficult diagnosis as ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.

Now, through Second Wind Counseling & Consulting Dacia wants to collaborate with you. Students have changed, it’s a new generation and you need new and relevant tools to reach students and increase their likelihood of success. She’s been where you are and would like to share her knowledge and experience in this noble endeavor.

Dacia and her staff offers staff development and training through Second Wind Counseling & Consulting to businesses, social service agencies, and churches on Anger Management & Conflict Resolution, including Peer Mediation. She also works with schools, providing consultation and training services.

Dacia has given numerous local, regional and national seminars as well as written several published articles. She is also an adjunct professor at Webster University in the Counseling Department. Dacia has worked with individuals & families for the last 15 years, and would like to help you get your “SECOND WIND”.
